Full-Stack Mobile Developer (React Native / Cloud / AI)

About the Role

We’re looking for a driven and adaptable developer to help us grow FieldNotes AI, a mobile application designed to support social workers in documenting and managing client interactions and interview sessions more efficiently. The app enables practitioners to record interactions, generate transcripts, create AI-powered summaries, and assist with completing required forms, reducing time spent on manual documentation.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining the current system, shipping new features, and improving the overall product experience. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the stack and have a direct impact on how the product evolves.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up, deploy, and maintain the application using Docker and cloud services (Azure)
  • Build and improve features in our React Native (Expo) mobile app
  • Work with Supabase (Auth, PostgreSQL, Storage) to manage backend functionality
  • Debug issues and keep the app stable and reliable
  • Integrate and maintain AI services (speech-to-text and summarization)
  • Work with API infrastructure (Caddy, Kong) to manage requests and security
  • Collaborate with the team to turn ideas into working features
  • Continuously improve performance, usability, and code quality

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with React Native (Expo) and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Comfortable working with APIs and backend services (Supabase or similar)
  • Familiarity with Docker and cloud environments (Azure is a plus)
  • Understanding of databases (PostgreSQL) and file storage
  • Experience with Git/GitHub
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug independently

Bonus Points

  • Experience with AI integrations (LLMs, speech-to-text, etc.)
  • Experience with mobile audio features
  • Familiarity with API gateways or reverse proxies
