• The Core functionality of the Product is Image Detection

  1. Image Detection allows all activities to begin
  2. Potential approaches
     • ML: Train a model to detect the species given an image
       • Pros
         • Increased Robustness
       • Cons
         • Time to train
         • Unpredictability/Testability
         • Specificity of target means we need to train the model for each target(would need ~10,000 images per target)
       • Direct Mapping: Finite number of species can be “hard coded”
         • Pros
           • Testability
           • Increased Accuracy
           • Easier to implement
         • Cons
           • Scalability(Addition of new targets may present issues in Administration and Management of Product)
           • Robustness(different images of the same target will need to be accounted for)
