SAPAA is currently seeking a Mobile Application Developer to continue development on a mobile application which is used to handle safety measures and generate reports on the exploration of protected areas within Alberta. This position is based remotely with weekly online meetings.

Mobile Application Developer

As our new Mobile Application Developer, we will count on you to develop important features that will integrate with our current application. You will be tasked with expanding upon a preexisting proof of concept app and bringing it closer to a finished product.

This will require you to be innovative and knowledgeable in order to optimize current systems and continuously develop new features and integrations as well as change pre-existing ones to meet our expectations. Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, the Mobile Application Developer will perform the following duties:

  • Complete coding and build of mobile software per client requirements
  • Formulate, design, and implement mobile solutions
  • Create tests to ensure the application is running properly
  • Responsible for troubleshooting
  • Stay on top of security threats and ensure updates to mitigate risks
  • Ability to collaborate with other developers and work on top of a preexisting system

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or related field
  • Experience using Java Script
  • Experience with UI/UX, React Native
  • Experience working on developing Android SDK/libraries
  • Experience working with backend platforms such as firebase
  • Experience with Version Control Platforms
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, and Test Automation
  • Able to work effectively alone or with a team of people
